Been awhile since I've drawn these two... but those of you who have watched this gallery for a long time might remember them, from around 2006ish! Anywho... Casey (the male hyena/warthog hybrid) and Topaz (the female cat) have been together for some time, and are in quite the oddity of living arrangements and occupational hazards (ex. living with Casey's two half brothers and a stripper, and being in the middle of a world wide crisis/war type plot thing...) when they find out Topaz is pregnant. If the living situation wasn't bad enough, the mother to be is more or less an emotional wreck (given that she has enormous mother issues, steaming from her own deadbeat mother abandoning her at birth) and the father to be is constantly having to talk her down and assure her that things will be all right, no matter what choice she makes. While Topaz eventually does decide to keep the baby, it's still an incredible hardship on her, mentally and physically, and Casey pretty much has his hands full always being there to give her whatever support and tenderness she needs. (Ultimately though, he is right, and things work out okay in the end ^^ Just wanted to depict one of the more vulnerable moments...) |
